Pinocchio Specialist
A Pinocchio Specialist is a mental health professional based in partnering school districts; working a 9 - 10 month schedule.
They serve as a liaison between children/families and schools, provide early identification and early intervention services to students in K - 3rd grade screened as being eligible for the Pinocchio Program, and provide Mental Health Consultation to school staff.
This position serves the Ferguson/Florissant School District, and follows the district schedule.
This is a full time position, split between 2 schools, serving K-2 students, Monday-Friday 8:
30am-4:
30pm.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - JOB SPECIFICProgram Coordinationo Screen all children in assigned school grades K - 3o Provide direct and indirect observation of children screened as eligible for the programo Coordinate and complete program eligibility process with appropriate school staff and potential program parentso Weekly Pinocchio Sessions:
develop a permanent weekly schedule with the schoolo Attend all agency and program meetings at a frequency determined by Supervisoro Link families to other Compass Health services as deemed appropriateDirect Clinical Serviceso Collaborate with families and systems to develop Pinocchio Child and Family Planso Meet with each child eligible for the program weekly; individually for 30 minutes or in a group no larger than 4 students for 45 minuteso Schedule two parent conferences during the academic school yearo Provide mental health consultation and mental health education to school staffo Function as a member of an integrated health team, serving as the liaison among providers involved in the client's/family's lifeo Actively work to build and foster an integrated care team around the client/familyo Provide parenting education when appropriate (Family System Model)o Seek culturally competent services and service providers to meet the unique cultural needs of each agency consumer and family memberDocumentationo Timelyo Accurateo Completeo Maintain agreed upon level of productivityo Complete all mandatory documentation to monitor client's progress towards achievement of individual treatment plan goalsOther Responsibilitieso Other miscellaneous duties as assignedo Perform Utilization Review activities as assignedo Attend all training as required by Compass Health, Accreditors and Funders Bachelor's degree required Master's degree preferred (preferably in psychology, social work, rehabilitation/vocational/pastoral counseling, family therapy or closely-related field) o At least one (1) year of applicable experience requiredo The completion of a practicum or at least one (1) year of experience under the supervision of a QMHP preferredLICENSURE/CERTIFICATION Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) preferred Compass Health Network is a nonprofit health care organization offering accessible, comprehensive, & compassionate behavioral health, substance use treatment, family medicine and dental services throughout Missouri.
