Language Coordinator/Certified Spanish Interpreter

The Language Coordinator is responsible for interpreting and/or coordinating appointments for Dental and Primary Care Departments.
Candidate must be fluent in English and target language.
Spanish Medical Interpreter training, certificate or relevant experience needed.
This is a full-time, benefit eligible position working Monday-Friday 8:
00 am to 4:
30 pm.
Responsibilities include:
o Schedule appointments and provide professional interpretive services.
o Confirms Spanish speaking appointments and coordinates interpreting services needed the following day/two days in advance.
o Answers Spanish line in phone system in polite and courteous manner.
o Direct phone calls and messages to appropriate office staff.
o Confirm patient's insurance coverage eligibility and coordinates interpretive services based on if covered.
o Works in conjunction with medical assistants, nurses and providers regarding medication refills, lab results, referrals.
o Coordinates interpreting services for referrals placed by our providers to other facilities which don't have the capacity to provide one.
o Provides Spanish interpreting services for Open Access patients, walk ins to express care and inquiries to Medicaid office.
o Monitors/manages interpreter schedule coordinates interpretive services for languages outside of Spanish and for patients whose insurance covers interpretive services.
o Follow-up on all Spanish missed appointments at all sites.
o Manage and monitor the patient portal for Spanish speaking patients.
o Collects co-pays, past due balances (if applicable) for Spanish speaking patients, balances daily batch and turns in money collected for the day as directed by the Central Reception Supervisor.
o Keep abreast of any updates/changes per outside interpretive providers.
o Attends monthly staff meetings as required.
o Conducts self in accordance with Compass Health Network's policies.
o Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
o Excels in customer service.
o Other duties as assigned.
High School/ GED preferred At least two (2) year experience preferred LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
